Basic Veneering
A class intended to show the basics of working with veneer and creating a veneered piece in which students make a veneered chessboard. After learning the basics of cutting veneer and matching, students will learn the basics of parquetry, or making geometric shapes. They will use the parquetry to create the chessboard playing field, then add a border and glue the piece together.
Advanced Veneering
A more in-depth look at veneering. Learn better how to achieve gorgeous book matching, and how to glue-up irregular shapes. In-lay techniques will also be explored. For those looking to add extra flair to their projects, this is the way.
Marquetry
Add designs to you veneer in the next step up. Learn how to cut matching shapes and shade them to incorporate miniature works of art in any veneered surface.
